Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship   adapted from Psalm 130    (Read responsively)

Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song.

Sing His praise in the assembly of the godly!

Let Israel be glad in his Maker;

let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!

Let them praise his name with dancing!

Let them make melody to him with tambourine and lyre!

For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;

He adorns the humble with salvation.

Let the godly exult in glory!  Let them sing for joy on their beds!

* Affirmation of Faith        “The Apostle’s Creed”

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.

* Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn of Adoration                   “To God Be the Glory”                  Red Book # 56

Admitting Our Sin to God

Eternal God, in Whom we live and move and have our being; Whose face is hidden from us by our sins; and Whose mercy we forget in the blindness of our hearts; cleanse us, we beseech You, from all our offenses; deliver us from proud thoughts and vain desires. Help us to draw near to You, confessing our faults, confiding in Your grace, finding in You our refuge and strength, living in peace with our Maker; through Jesus Christ the Lord.    (silent, personal confession)  AMEN

WHETHER you’re investigating the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ, looking for a church home, or have been with us for a long time – welcome! God is real, God is present, and we hope you sense and experience the grandeur of God today in this morning’s worship. Please remember to sign the blue attendance pad.

Today - We will celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. In the Presbyterian Church (USA), all who sincerely trust in Jesus Christ and Him alone for the forgiveness of sin are invited to the Lord’s table, including baptized children with parental permission.

THANK YOU – to those who gave extra in July and August to help restore our church operating account following a series of higher than normal expenses. Your additional contributions made a difference and are deeply appreciated.

Fear or Faith - a choice we all face.
