Welcome and Announcements

Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship        (adapted from Psalm 124)

Let Israel now say: If it had not been the Lord Who was on our side when people rose up against us,

Then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their anger was kindled against us; then the flood would have swept us away, the torrent would have gone over us; then over us would have gone the raging waters.

Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us as prey to their teeth!

We have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowlers.

The snare is broken,

And we have escaped!

Our help is in the name of the Lord,

Who made heaven and earth.

* Affirmation of Faith        The Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection

of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.

* Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn of Adoration      Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing      Red Book # 11

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

Lord of all that is seen and unseen, we admit that we have not made the life of Jesus our own way of life. Our trust is often weak and our faith small. We allow ourselves to be a needy folk in the face of Your abundant provisions of grace. Forgive us for not remembering Who You are, Father, and for failing to seek Your grace, Your wisdom, Your protection, and Your glory. Restore and renew us we pray. In the name of Jesus Christ.   (time of silent, personal confession)  AMEN

Prayers of the People and the Lords Prayer

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.  AMEN.
