Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship       adapted from Psalm 8      (responsively)

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!

You have set Your glory above the heavens.

Out of the mouth of babes and infants,

You have established strength because of Your foes,

to still the enemy and the avenger.

When I look at Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,

the moon and the stars, which You have set in place;

What is man that You are mindful of him,

and the son of man that You care for him?

All: O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!

LET US WORSHIP GOD!!

* Affirmation of Faith        The Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.                                           *universal

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

O God of time and eternity, You offer us hope and opportunity to rejoice in You. Yet far too often we let the worries of our life and the concerns of the day destroy this hope and bring despair. We find it far too easy to lose ourselves in our own problems, to feel sorry for ourselves rather than be thankful for the new life that you have given us in Christ. We neglect to share the Good News with others. Help us, O God, to find ourselves in Christ, to see Him in every circumstance. Sustained by His love, help us to live as though He really is our Hope and Saviour of the world. In Jesus' name we pray  (time of silent, personal confession)  AMEN

Assurance of Pardon

Prayers of the People and the Lords Prayer

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:  For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.  AMEN.
