Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship      adapted from Psalm  104  (responsively)

Bless the Lord, all you people!

O Lord our God, You are very great!

You are clothed with splendor and majesty.

You cover Yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent.

He lays the beams of His chambers on the waters;

He makes the clouds His chariot;

He rides on the wings of the wind;

He makes His messengers winds, His ministers a flaming fire.

LET US WORSHIP GOD!

* Affirmation of Faith        The Apostle’s Creed”

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.                                                 *universal

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

O God Who makes all things new, we have forgotten how to live in watchful expectation for the return of Your Son and the coming of Your kingdom in its fullness. We let our familiar routines and the length of the wait sap our confidence and spiritual vitality. In the hum-drum stuff of daily living we forget Who You are and what you are making us to become. O Father in heaven, for the sake of Jesus Christ, forgive us for our wrong priorities and dullness of spir-it. Restore our hope and spiritual vitality. Remind us who we are. Above all, remind us Who Jesus Christ is. We ask in His name.  (time of silent, personal confession)  AMEN

Assurance of Pardon

Prayers of the People and the Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.  AMEN.

WHETHER you’re investigating the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ, looking for a church home, or have been with us for a long time – welcome! God is real, God is present, and we hope you sense and experience the grandeur of God today in this morning’s worship. Please sign the blue attendance pad and join us in the Fellowship Hall for coffee and light refreshments following the worship service.

BUILDING MAINTENANCE FUND – Since our building is no longer new, the Session has begun preparing for other expensive repairs or replacements that are needed, and has authorized the establishment of a building maintenance fund. For example, the riding mower needs an expensive repair, and the parking lot needs to be repaired/resurfaced. Cost for these two items will be $8,000.
