Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship       adapted from Psalm 43      (responsively)

Send out Your light, O LORD, and Your truth; let them lead us!

Let them bring us to Your holy hill and to Your dwelling!

Then we will go to the altar of God,   to God our exceeding joy,

and we will praise You with the lyre, O God, our God.

LET US WORSHIP GOD!!

* Affirmation of Faith        The Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.                                           *universal

* Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn of Adoration     Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing       Red Book  # 11

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

Our Father, and God of all creation, we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way. We have followed the call of other shepherds. We have played the goat instead of living like Your faithful followers. We have grazed in the pastures of sin, injustice and greed. We are lost without You, O Lord. Hear our confession and pleas for mercy. Come and find us, Your wandering sheep, and lead us back to Your true flock, and the safety of our appointed fold. We pray in the name of the Good Shepherd, Christ the Lord. (time of silent, personal confession)      AMEN

Assurance of Pardon

Leader  . . . Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel!

ALL:           In Jesus Christ we are forgiven

* Responding with Praise                     Gloria Patri                    Blue Book # 579

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning; is now and ever shall be. World without end, Amen! Amen!

Time with Young Disciples

Prayers of the People and the Lords Prayer

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:  For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.  AMEN.
