* Affirmation of Faith        The Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.                                         *universal

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

O Lord Jesus, how we long to follow You in the path that is right and true and faithful. But our sin gets in the way. We make wrong choices because we block out Your voice. We believe the lies of our great enemy, deceiving ourselves, because that way seems easiest. We prefer to make our own place in the world because then we can think that we are in control. O Lord, forgive us our willful, wanton, and wayward deeds. Be patient with us and teach us the hard lessons of true discipleship. Do not leave us to our own devices or we shall surely die. Fill us with greater, grander desire to please You only; for You have redeemed us and made us Your very own. We only dare ask in Your blessed name.  (time of silent, personal confession) AMEN
