Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship        (taken from Psalm 14)

The fool says in his heart, "There is no God."

They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good.

The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man,

To see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.

Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!

When the Lord  restores the fortunes of His people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.

* Affirmation of Faith        The Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection

of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.

* Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn of Adoration         O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing      Red Book # 21

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

Most holy and merciful Father; We acknowledge and confess before You: Our sinful nature prone to evil; our apathy in doing in good; and all our other shortcomings and offenses. You alone know how often we have sinned; In wandering from you’re your ways; In wasting Your gifts; In forgetting Your love. But You, O Lord, have mercy upon us; who are ashamed and sorry for all in which we have displeased You. Teach us to hate our errors; cleanse us from our secret faults.  And forgive our sins; for the sake of Your dear Son. And, most holy and loving Father; help us, we implore You; to live in Your light and walk in Your ways; according to the commandments of Jesus Christ our Lord.     (time of silent, personal confession)  AMEN

Assurance of Pardon

Prayers of the People and the Lords Prayer

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
