Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship               adapted from Psalm 85   (responsively)

Let us hear what God the Lord will speak, for He will speak peace to His people,

to His saints;   but let us not turn back to folly.

Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him,

that glory may dwell in our land.

Steadfast love and faithfulness meet;

righteousness and peace kiss each other.

Faithfulness springs up from the ground,

and righteousness looks down from the sky.

Yes, the Lord will give what is good,

and our land will yield its increase.

LET US WORSHIP GOD!!

* Affirmation of Faith        The Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.                                           *universal

* Prayer of Invocation

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

Almighty God: You love us, but we have not loved You; You call, but we have not listened. We walk away from neighbors in need, wrapped up in our own concerns. We have gone along with prejudice, warfare, and greed. God our Father, help us to face up to ourselves, so that, as You move toward us in mercy, we may repent, turn to You, and receive forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord.   (time of silent, personal confession)      AMEN

Assurance of Pardon

Leader  . . . Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel!

ALL:           In Jesus Christ we are forgiven

* Responding with Praise                     Gloria Patri                    Blue Book # 579

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning; is now and ever shall be. World without end, Amen! Amen!

Time with Young Disciples

Prayers of the People and the Lords Prayer

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:  For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.  AMEN.
