* Affirmation of Faith        “The Apostle’s Creed”

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.

* Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn of Adoration             “This Is My Father’s World”               Red Book # 143

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

O God of the promise, the patriarchs, the prophets, the Apostles, You are Lord of the past, the present, and the future. We say that we know Who You are, but we do not live like it is true. We are willfully ignorant of Your word and Your ways and we make ourselves strangers to Your comforting grace and energizing power. We confess our shortcomings, our inclination to sin, our lack of holiness, our narrowness of vision, our emptiness of expectation. Father, forgive us we pray. According to Your steadfast love, grant us power to improve our doing and a spirit to wait with anticipation and excitement for the promised return of our Savior Jesus Christ; in Whose name we pray.   (silent, personal confession)  AMEN
