Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship   adapted from Psalm 119   (Read responsively)

The LORD has commanded His precepts to be kept diligently.

Oh that our ways may be steadfast in keeping Your statutes!

Then we shall not be put to shame,

having our eyes fixed on all Your commandments.

We will praise You with upright hearts, when we learn Your righteous laws.

We will keep Your statutes; do not utterly forsake us!

* Affirmation of Faith        “The Apostle’s Creed”

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.

* Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn of Adoration                    Glorify Thy Name                         Red Book # 9

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

O God, You gave us a Garden of Eden and we chose to wander in deserts of our own making. You gave us the Light of the World and we chose to crawl in the dark. Forgive us our squandering, our wandering, our lack of commitment. Forget not Your covenant with us, O God, and choose us still to tell Your Good News, to give all that we have that all might be one in Your great Shalom. In Jesus' name we pray.     (silent, personal confession)  AMEN

Assurance of Pardon

* Responding with Praise               “Gloria Patri”                            Blue Book #579

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning; is now and ever shall be. World without end, Amen! Amen!

CULTIVATING A CHRISTIAN WORLDVIEW – The 2014 Texas Hill Country Bible Conference will be held February 28 and March 1 in Boerne. The conference theme is Cultivating a Christian Worldview. In an increasingly secularized society, Christians often find their ideas under attack. How can we maintain a Christ-centered perspective on the contested issues of our day? The answer is by having a consistently Christian worldview that shapes our thoughts, guides our words, and motivates our actions. This conference will help build a foundation for Christian worldview thinking. The Texas Hill Country Bible Conference is sponsored by the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals. Additional information can be obtained at alliancenet.org or by calling 800 488-1888.
