* Affirmation of Faith        “The Apostle’s Creed”

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.

Prayer of Thanksgiving

O God our Father, Creator of this world and Giver of all good things: We thank You for our home on earth and for the joy of living. We praise You for Your love in Jesus Christ, Who came to set things right, Who died rejected on the cross and rose triumphant from the dead. Because He lives, we live to praise You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Keep faith with us as You have in the past, and help us to trust Your promises, so that we may live before You expecting goodness and mercy all our days, for Thou art our God for ever. We make our prayer in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord. AMEN.

* Responding with Praise               “Gloria Patri”                            Blue Book #579

SPECIAL OFFERING – Faith Tabernacle Ministries (FTC) located in the Philippines is a mission partner of Advancing Indigenous Missions (AIM). At least 12 churches affiliated with FTC and their members experienced damage during Typhoon Haiyan. Our Session has authorized a special offering to help with disaster relief for the effected churches and members of FTC.

OUR DAILY BREAD (REGULAR PRINT EDITION) - Complimentary copies of Our Daily Bread for December, January and February are located on the table in the Narthex. Many find this daily devotional aid helpful to their spiritual growth.

WHAT IS CHRISTMAS ALL ABOUT? – Complimentary copies of this booklet of 10 reflections from the publishers of Our Daily Bread are also located on the table in the Narthex.

EACH SUNDAY DURING ADVENT – Christmas carol instrumentals will be heard in the sanctuary starting about 9:40 am. Come a little early to enjoy these beautiful arrangements and prepare to worship our Savior and King.

NEXT SUNDAY’S POINSETTIAS – Next Sunday the chancel area will be decorated with poinsettias. To increase the longevity of the poinsettias, this year we have purchased a special time-release potion. If you would like to sponsor a poinsettia in loving memory or in honor of a loved one, there is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board by the drinking fountain in the Narthex. Cost: $13.50/each.

ADVENT CANDLE LIGHTERS – Two volunteers for Sunday, December 22 are needed. Please use the sign up sheet in the hall by the water fountain to volunteer to read a short devotional and light the candle(s).
