Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship               adapted from Psalm 81   (responsively)

Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob!

I am the Lord your God, Who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

"But My people did not listen to My voice; Israel would not submit to Me.

So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts, to follow their own counsels.

Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways!

I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn My hand against their foes.

Those who hate the Lord would cringe toward Him,

and their fate would last forever.

But He would feed you with the finest of the wheat,

and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you."

LET US WORSHIP GOD!!

* Affirmation of Faith        The Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.                                           *universal

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

God Who sees all and knows all, we could not hide from You if we tried. You know us and our sin. We go our own way. We do not bear the fruit You desire. We are stub-born when we should repent and turn to You. We are turning to You now, our Father, confessing our sin, because we love You and desire to be in holy fellowship with You. Hear us. O God! Help us as we repent of our sins and turn to You for restoration. Hear us, we pray, for the sake of Christ the Lord.   (silent, personal confession)  AMEN

Prayers of the People and the Lords Prayer

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:  For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.  AMEN.
