Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship               adapted from Psalm 71   (responsively)

Rescue us, O our God, from the hand of the wicked,

from the grasp of the unjust and cruel man.

For You, O Lord, are our hope, our trust, O Lord, from our youth.

Upon You we have leaned from before our birth.

You are He who took us from our mothers’ wombs.

Our praise is continually of You.

LET US WORSHIP GOD!!

* Affirmation of Faith        The Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.                                           *universal

* Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn of Adoration           Our God Is an Awesome God        Red Book  # 179

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

Almighty God, we live in Your world forgetting that it is now a fallen creation with much that operates contrary to Your holy will. We fail to see how the things You intended to be blessings have been perverted and twisted by our sin. We use them as avenues for rebellion and defiance of a Holy God. Though You have redeemed us in Jesus Christ, we are too much at home with this world as it is, and we even willingly participate in its corruption and uncleanness.  We confess our sinful nature and admit our participation in evil, rebellion, sloth, and ungodliness. Hear and forgive us, we pray, for the sake of Jesus Christ.  (time of silent, personal confession)      AMEN

Assurance of Pardon

Leader  . . . Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel!

ALL:           In Jesus Christ we are forgiven

* Responding with Praise                     Gloria Patri                    Blue Book # 579

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning; is now and ever shall be. World without end, Amen! Amen!

Time with Young Disciples

Prayers of the People and the Lords Prayer

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:  For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.  AMEN.

Please sign the blue attendance pad and join us in the Fellowship Hall for coffee and light refreshments following the worship service.

FLOWERS – If you would like to sponsor flowers for the chancel in loving memory or honor of a loved one or in honor of a special occasion, there is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board by the drinking fountain in the Narthex. Cost: $24/Sunday..

USHERS NEEDED – Please use the sign-up sheet on the table in the narthex to volunteer for one or more weeks. See sheet for details.

BUILDING MAINTENANCE FUND – Last year the Session established a Building

Maintenance Fund to make payment of large repair bills easier. A hearty thanks to all who have contributed to this fund. The Building Maintenance Fund  along with our monthly cash flow makes the payment of needed repairs possible without drawing upon other reserves. The fund is slowly growing. As the Lord leads, please consider contributing to this fund so we can be well prepared for future significant repairs.
