* Call to Worship

* Affirmation of Faith        “The Apostle’s Creed”

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.

* Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn of Adoration                   “Glory to His Name”                    Red Book # 493

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

Father, we confess that we have not trusted You with our whole heart; and that is the essence of sin. We admit that our lack of trust works itself out in the things we do which hurt others; in the things we do not do which we ought to have done; both of which drive us away from You, the Source of our life. We get impatient with You because You do not answer our prayers when and how we want. We give-up or give-in when we should wait upon You. We even begin believing that You no longer love us. Our sin and separation grieve us, O God, and we pray to be restored. Please find us where we are. Help us to repent. And restore us to fellowship with You. For the sake of Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior of us all.    (silent, personal confession)  AMEN.
