Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship    adapted from Psalm 105       (Read responsively)

Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon His name;

make known His deeds among the peoples!

Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;

tell of all His wondrous works!

Glory in His holy name;

let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!

Seek the Lord and His strength;

seek His presence continually!

Remember the wondrous works that He has done,

Recount His miracles, and the judgments He uttered!

* Affirmation of Faith        “The Apostle’s Creed”

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.

* Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn of Adoration  "I Greet Thee, Who My Sure Redeemer”   Blue Book # 457

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

Father, forgive us for the times that we say our talents would not matter, that we find excuses trying to save ourselves some bother. Help us to see the importance of the ordinary, to take advantage of each opportunity in life, and to strive to put more into life than we take from it. When we say that our simple lives could contribute little, remind us of the beauty and simplicity of nature - the lilies of the field, the changing colors of fall, the birds of the air - and show us how we too, may contribute to the beauty of life. Forgive us our lack of faith; free us to expect more of ourselves to Christ's glory.    (silent, personal confession)  AMEN

Assurance of Pardon

    Leader  . . . Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel!

    ALL:           In Jesus Christ we are forgiven

* Responding with Praise               “Gloria Patri”                            Blue Book #579

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning; is now and ever shall be. World without end, Amen! Amen!
