Celebration  of  Worship

Welcome and Announcements

Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship    adapted from Psalm 98      (Read responsively)

Oh sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things!

His right hand and His holy arm have worked salvation for Him.

The Lord has made known His salvation;

He has revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations.

He has remembered His steadfast love and faithfulness to the house of Israel.

All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

* Affirmation of Faith        “The Apostle’s Creed”

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.

* Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn of Adoration                      “To God Be the Glory”               Red Book # 56

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

O God of time and eternity, You offer us hope and opportunity to rejoice in You. Yet far too often we let the worries of our life and the concerns of the day destroy this hope and bring despair. We find it far too easy to lose ourselves in our own problems, to feel sorry for ourselves rather than be thankful for the new life that You have given us in Christ. And we neglect to share the Good News with others. Help us, O God, to find ourselves in Christ, to see Him in every circumstance. Sustained by His love, help us to live as though He really is our Hope and Saviour of the world. In Jesus' name we pray.    (silent, personal confession)  AMEN
