Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship               adapted from Psalm 107   (responsively)

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good,

for His steadfast love endures forever!

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from trouble

and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.

He led them by a straight way till they reached a city to dwell in.

Let them thank the Lord for His steadfast love, for His wondrous works to the children of men!

For He satisfies the longing soul,

and the hungry soul He fills with good things.

* Affirmation of Faith        The Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.                                           *universal

* Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn of Adoration                  My Jesus, I Love Thee               Red Book  # 79

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

Lord, our lives are going so very fast. Day follows day with so few breaks in our routine. We forget to look at those things that are crucially important. Forgive us, Lord, for our insensitivity to the gift of life. We are shallow. We worship things and achievements. We fail to put first things first. We are tempted to conform to the world, rather than be transformed by the renewal of our minds and hearts. Forgive us, Lord, and lead us into that life where we walk securely and peacefully in Your Way. Through Jesus Christ the Lord.  (time of silent, personal confession)      AMEN

Assurance of Pardon

Leader  . . . Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel!

ALL:           In Jesus Christ we are forgiven

* Responding with Praise                     Gloria Patri                    Blue Book # 579

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning; is now and ever shall be. World without end, Amen! Amen!

Time with Young Disciples

Prayers of the People and the Lords Prayer

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:  For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.  AMEN.

God is real, God is present, and we hope you sense and experience the grandeur of God today in this morning’s worship. Please sign the blue attendance pad and join us in the Fellowship Hall for coffee and light refreshments following the worship service.

NEXT SUNDAY - We will celebrate the Lord’s Supper. In the Presbyterian Church (USA), all who sincerely trust in Jesus Christ and Him alone, for the forgiveness of sin, are invited to partake, including baptized children with parental permission.

Next Sunday is also the day to bring in-kind contributions for the various ministries like CAM, THE Pregnancy Resource Center, K-Star, and the Crisis Center.

DIETER and CLAUDIA WALTER (Gabriel International) have sent their most recent newsletter which is posted next to the drinking fountain. It contains important information about recent developments in that ministry

FLOWERS – If you would like to sponsor flowers for the chancel in loving memory or honor of a loved one or in honor of a special occasion, there is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board by the drinking fountain in the Narthex. Cost: $24/Sunday..
