Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship   adapted from Psalm 119    (Read responsively)

Teach us, O Lord, the way of Your statutes;

and we will keep it to the end.

Give us understanding,

that we may keep Your law and observe it with our whole hearts.

Lead us in the path of Your commandments,

for I delight in it.

Incline our hearts to Your testimonies,

and not to selfish gain!

Turn our eyes from looking at worthless things;

and give us life in Your ways.

Confirm to Your servants Your promise,

 that You may be feared.

* Affirmation of Faith        “The Apostle’s Creed”

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.

* Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn of Adoration       All Creatures of Our God and King”        vv. 1-3 Red Book # 63

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

God Who sees all and knows all, we could not hide from You if we tried. You know us and our sin. We go our own way. We do not bear the fruit You desire. We are stubborn when we should repent and turn to You. We are turning to You now, our Father, confessing our sin, because we love You and desire to be in holy fellowship with You. Hear us. O God! Help us as we repent of our sins and turn to You for restoration. Hear us, we pray, for the sake of Christ the Lord.     (silent, personal confession)  AMEN

CULTIVATING A CHRISTIAN WORLDVIEW – The 2014 Texas Hill Country Bible Conference will be held Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1 in Boerne. The conference theme is Cultivating a Christian Worldview. In an increasingly secularized society, Christians often find their ideas under attack. How can we maintain a Christ-centered perspective on the contested issues of our day? The answer is by having a consistently Christian worldview that shapes our thoughts, guides our words, and motivates our actions. This conference will help build a foundation for Christian worldview thinking. The Texas Hill Country Bible Conference is sponsored by the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals. Additional information can be obtained at or by calling 800 488-1888.

Great occasions for serving God come seldom, but little ones surround us daily.
