Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship

* Affirmation of Faith        “The Apostle’s Creed”

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.

* Prayer of Invocation

*Hymn of Adoration                     "Thine Is the Glory”                  Blue Book  #122

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

O loving God, we acknowledge that we are sinners with no health of our own. Forgive our pride which makes us the center of things. Forgive our self-sufficiency in which we have tried to prosper under our own power. Forgive our arrogance in which we have ignored Your word. Forgive our inattention to holy duty which disconnects us from Jesus.  Forgive the bitter fruit we have produced. Heavenly Father, graft us back onto the True Vine. Help us to stay attached to Jesus and to abide in Your love.  In Jesus’ Name.     (silent, personal confession)  AMEN

Assurance of Pardon

    Leader   . . . Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel!

    ALL:            In Jesus Christ we are forgiven

* Responding with Praise               “Gloria Patri”                            Blue Book #579

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning; is now and ever shall be. World without end, Amen! Amen!

Prayers of the People, and the Lord’s Prayer

 Our Father, Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:  For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.  AMEN.
